How to preorder the download version of Demigod

http://www.demigodthegame.com/preorder/ says in brackets [Download + Retail Box]; does that mean that I can choose either download or retail version or that I have to buy the combined version at the current time. I don't want to spend 20$ on shipping and I didnt find a option to buy the download only version. And you really should try to some way to allow people without credit card to pre-order your products. (maybe open an bank account somewhere in Europe and allow wire transfer , I don't think that the fees are higher than via paypal but you have bigger administrative effort ofc - or just find a way to get it working with paypal)

Well, we should hope that a download only version would be availbale and that would work in a similar way to Sins of a Solar Empire who has a download only version https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/store.aspx

There are two options, both give you download access to the game.

Digital Download Only
Download the game via Impulse. No box is shipped to you, no paper manual, no CDs, it's all digital.
Digital Download + Retail Box
Download the game via Impulse. Also receive, in the mail, a full retail copy of the game. Box, CD, manual plus any other goodies that might get tossed in.

Well I want to know what kind of box it'll be (cardboard, plastic, or tin?) and what's in it before I'd do the boxed one so I think I'll wait a bit.

Is there no way to... securely use paypal to preorder then? It's very much one of the most user friendly ways and i bet that it would entice more people to preorder.. Rather than wait for the release (obviously unless they REALLY want the beta

)

Well, I think that the problem with paypal is that the item must be charged immediately, when the preorder process charges you only when you have access for the first time to the game.

A workaround for preordering previous Stardock titles with Paypal would have been to use Totalgaming.net tokens. You bought 10 tokens for 70$ with paypal and then you user some of your tokens to get the download only version of the game. Sure, you don't get any physical media but if you live in Europe, you may want to avoid S/H costs (20 $) and the possible custom taxes .

But that requires that Demigod is availble here http://totalgaming.stardock.com/store/ which isn't actually the case.

Humm, i guess Stardock is still figuring out how many tokens will costs the game (see the discussion about how many tokens for SoaSE).

I think Beta 1 is for "Expert" so i will pass that first round.

I also think that they will reenact the beta system used with SoaSE, so there will be possibilities to join the Beta 2+ and paying with paypal (in general 1 week before & 1 week after the release of each beta phase).

The important question is, will buying the box version from Stardock automatically secure us the Collector Edition box that will undoubtedly be released?

Well, since it isn't yet listed on the TGN website, you couldn't use tokens to preorder it immediately
